1. PFRDA switches to PAN for online enrolment under NPSPension fund regulatory body PFRDA has started using PAN instead of Aadhaar for validation of new customers who can now be registered online under the National Pension System (NPS) Scheme

 

2. PM Narendra Modi inaugurates top Police Officer’s Conference in GujaratPM Modi has formally inaugurated the All-India conference of Directors General of Police (AICDGPs) at Dhordo in white Rann of Kutch region near Bhuj, Gujarat.

 

3. WB Government approves proposal for formation of five new districtsWest Bengal Government has approved proposal for formation of five new districts in the state, namely KalimpongSundarbansBasirhatBurdwanJhargram. With this, the total number of districts of Bengal will increase to 25.

1. US Security Council unanimously adopts resolution on Syria peace plan: The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has unanimously adopted a resolution No. 2254 outlining a peace process in Syria.The resolution endorses an international roadmap for a Syria peace process to end Syria’s five-year long civil war.

 

2. US doubles H-1B visa fee on highly qualified Indian IT professionals to $4000 from $2000.

 

3. IMF approves half a billion financial assistance to PakistanThe IMF approved nearly USD 500 million in its latest tranche of financial assistance to Pakistan, bringing the total amount of money released to revive the country’s economy to USD 5 billion.  

 

4. Anil Ambani, Spielberg join hands to form Amblin Partners:  The Anil Ambani owned Reliance Entertainment and acclaimed Hollywood director Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks announced formation of Amblin Partners- a new film, television and digital content creation company.

1. Harvard University’s Public Health School opening Mumbai centre: The Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health is to open its new centre in Mumbai, the first in South Asia, in a bid to help broaden and coordinate the school’s nearly 60 years of collaboration to improve health in India and around the world.

 

2. Mumbai’s iconic Marine Drive turns 100Mumbai’s iconic boulevard Marine Drive, also popularly called the Queen’s Necklace, completed 100 years, and residents of city’s western waterfront flagged off the centenary celebrations with a postcard showing the crescent-shaped bay off the Arabian Sea.

 

3. PM Narendra Modi hands over Shyamji’s UK Bar certificate to CM Anandiben PatelPM Modirecalled nationalist leader Shyamji Krishna Varma as the 1st ‘non-brahmin’ to have received a ‘degree of pandit’ in Varanasi. 4. DAC approved purchase of Russian S-400 TriumfAir Defence Missile SystemThe Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved the purchase of Russian advance S-400 Triumf Air Defence Missile Systems from Russia at an estimated cost of 40000 crore rupees.This system is capable of destroying incoming hostile missiles, aircraft and even drones within a range of up to 400km.

6. Hindustan Unilever signed agreement with Mosons Group to acquire IndulekhaHindustan Unilever (HUL) announced that it signed an agreement with Mosons Group to acquire its flagship brand Indulekha for 330 crore rupees.
